Smart features

  • Stainless back end
    Stainless back end

The bulk of the back end is constructed from stainless steel. This cuts out rust and means the life of your running gear is extended. The flat discs, vanes and spinner tubes are all stainless. They connect to a pair of extremely reliable hydraulic motors. The roller bearings are easily adjustable for you and keep discs firm.

  • Industry leading coating protection system
    Industry leading coating protection system

Every SAM has an advanced new paint procedure for the long-term. This application has been chosen for its hard-wearing toughness. Firstly a blast then a thermal-arc spray followed by the SAM coating difference. This industry leading coating protection system is mega tough stuff!

  • Tough rust resistant hopper
    Tough rust resistant hopper

These plastic bins have shown themselves to be very strong and reliable. They are made from UV-protected polyethylene. Fertiliser can be extremely corrosive and the SAM bin prevents that by being rust-free and easy clean. Fertiliser slips down the sides easily and washes off well.

  • Border control Testing SP 1
    Consistent spread control

Setting the rate you wish to spread is simply by rear door adjustment. The double spinner design gives a nice, accurate, even spread pattern for a wide range of product.

  • Smart, accurate weighing
    Smart, accurate weighing

When purchasing your Spreader you can add electronic weigh scales. This mean you can weigh the fertiliser in your bin at any point. They can also be zeroed out. Further information is below. Note: Weigh scales cannot be fitted retrospectively to Spreaders.

  • Computer control box 2 1 Topcon box
    Topcon control system

You can also add a Topcon control system to replace the standard ground drive. This gives hydraulic floor speed rate and control. This technology means the correct application rate is applied regardless of changes in forward speed or changes in product density. Gives peace of mind for accuracy and reporting.

  • Mudguards for added protection
    Mudguards for added protection

Standard on all tandem axle machines (except 9 tonne) SAM mudguards are made from UV-protected, high strength polyethylene. They reduce your cleaning and hold up well to abrasive chemical fertilisers.

  • Textured rubber belt
    Textured rubber belt

The 800mm wide rubber floor is two-ply rubber, riveted into corrosion protected steel bars, then welded onto a high-strength chain. Stainless steel skirts run along both sides to prevent striping.

  • Filtering mesh (Optional Extra)
    Filtering mesh (Optional Extra)

This mesh fits inside your bin. It helps to prevent lumpy urea upsetting your spread rate and it also stops large objects dropping down and damaging the belt and gear.

  • Cover with bungys
    Cover with bungys

Straightforward and uncomplicated, this basic heavy-duty canvas cover is simply tossed across the load and hooked in place with bungys and clips.

Optional extras

  • Coupling with swivel
  • Larger tyres
  • Topcon control (ISOBUS)
  • Load cell integration
  • Material agitator
  • Lights for on-road use
  • Internal mesh
  • Stainless steel hydraulic hose fittings
Swivel coupling S 2
Coupling with swivel

Swivel couplings on your tow hitch are great if you have large loads and varied terrain.

A fixed coupling is standard across the 4 & 5 tonne Spreaders. They can be upgraded to swivel coupling if required.

The 6, 8 and 10 tonne SAM Trailers have the heavy swivel coupling as standard.

When you are using an Auto Hitch you'll require a donut eye on the coupling.

Tyres 2
Larger tyres

Our tyres have been chosen for their toughness and durability. We only go for very high quality options for you.

Four and five tonne SAM Spreaders come standard with 11.5x15.3 tyres. Or you can upgrade to bigger 400x15.5 tyres. Bigger tyres can be suitable for softer, wet terrain.

Six tonne Spreaders have these 400x15.5 tyres included as standard or can be upgraded to 500/50x17 tyres.

For every single-axle model 550 / 60x22.5 tyres are an upgrade option.

Tyre specifications can be adapted for your particular situation. We are happy to talk through custom options.

Topcon control (ISOBUS)

If even more accuracy and control is needed, go for a computer controlled system. This is instead of the normal ground drive.

This technology means the correct application rate is applied from the cab, regardless of changes in forward speed or changes in product density.

You can go for rate control only, or add weigh scales for extra precision and automatic rate calibration.

A GPS aerial is great for proof of placement and field mapping. Find out more.

Load cell S 1
Load cell integration

Manual drive spreaders

Load cells give an accurate measure of the weight of product in the bin. They can be zeroed at any time.

A simple calculation of the weight of product spread, divided by the area covered, gives you the spread rate (in kg/ha). Many new tractors have an inbuilt display that will give area covered at certain spread widths.

A fixed Iconix FX15 display unit is supplied with all manual SAM machines fitted with weigh scales. It is mounted to the front of your spreader.

A simple App for Bluetooth viewing on your mobile is also available (currently Android only). This App allows you to verify your spread rate at any point in time.

Computer drive (Topcon)

You can also add load cells to any computer controlled machine. Most are spec'd this way. It is really the only way to get true accuracy because you are actually weighing the product in the bin.

Material agitator

The material agitator is designed to break-up, lift and tumble materials in a gentle but thorough blending action. This process, ideal for organic material and manure, allows for consistent flow onto the spinner disks.

Lights and flags S 1
Lights for on-road use

You will need LED lights and flags if you are travelling on the road. The flexible plastic mounting boards are tough and hardy if knocked.

The LED lights plug straight into your power source. They are fully waterproof.

Mesh S 1
Internal mesh

This mesh fits inside your bin. It stops large objects dropping down and damaging the belt and gear. Great for spreading crusty Urea.

Stainless steel hydraulic hose fittings

Higher grade hydraulic hose fittings for rust protection.
